“Scars Never Forget”

Reminiscent of a time not too long ago when I felt truly loved by someone I thought was different—
someone I truly believed in my heart was special.

This person had promised never to hurt, use, abuse, or abandon me.

But here I sit alone, looking down at these stitches in my heart,
barely clinging to my chest, my heartbeat fading with each breath.

It has been ten years since, yet these scars remain so fresh,
as though they were carved just yesterday.
Each glance at them makes them grow even rawer still.
How can I make these forbidden memories fade away?
How can I erase these unwanted carvings etched into the canvas painting of my soul?
