Finding Joy in Life’s Little Moments
Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you?
Play in my daily life often looks like finding joy in the little moments—cracking jokes with family, writing something that stirs my imagination, or even losing myself in a good story. For me, “playtime” is anything that lets me unwind and feel free, like writing a piece with no rules or letting my thoughts run wild while brainstorming ideas. It’s in those moments when I’m not focused on responsibility but just enjoying the process, whether it’s through words, laughter, or quiet reflection. That’s when life feels lighter, and I’m reminded to breathe a little easier.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget the importance of these moments. We get so caught up in the weight of everything we have to do, that we forget to enjoy the simplicity of being present in a moment of joy. Whether it’s a spontaneous laugh with my children or getting lost in a creative flow, these little escapes are vital. They’re reminders that life doesn’t always have to be a list of tasks or deadlines. Playtime, for me, is about reconnecting with the lighter side of life, even when the world around me feels heavy. It keeps my creativity sharp, my heart light, and my spirit alive.
