This vision is reflected in the partnership behind these pages. Co-editor Vo Thi Nhu Mai, whose life has been shaped by the cultures of Vietnam and Australia, joins founder and publisher Nelly Vee, whose heritage is rooted in the Caribbean and the British Virgin Islands. Although our backgrounds are separated by thousands of miles, we have discovered that creativity dissolves many of the boundaries that often divide us. Art does not require a passport. Poetry does not recognize borders. A sincere story can reach a stranger’s heart regardless of the language in which it was first written.

Psychology reminds us that every person is shaped by memory, environment, relationships, and lived experience. Our traditions become part of our identity, and our identity influences how we see the world.
