KVI NETWORK · AUTHORS & CONTRIBUTORS
Welcome to KVI: Your Author Publishing Guide
Many cultures. Many voices. One standard of respect. This guide explains what to do before your first post and where the official community and publishing requirements live.
01 · Set up your profile
Use your preferred professional display name; add a clear, accurate short biography, website or portfolio link, and your own appropriately credited profile photo or artwork. Keep email and other private details out of public biography text. If your name includes diacritics or non-English characters, preserve their correct spelling.
02 · Know your role
Membership, Contributor, and Author access are different. WordPress Author access may include technical permission to publish, but that permission does not remove KVI’s editorial rules. Publishing an article on your own does not make it an approved Krafty Page ChronicleS feature or magazine inclusion.
03 · Prepare an original submission
Make sure the work is yours or that you have the right to submit it. Confirm any third-party quotation, photo, translation, image, or music permission and accurately list co-creators, translators, and artwork credits. Be clear about previous publication and simultaneous submissions where the call asks for them.
04 · Follow the editorial review process
Prepare the title, excerpt, meaningful headings, credits, alt text, and any references. Save your article as a draft and obtain any review required for your assigned feature before making it live. If an editor requests changes, preserve the author’s meaning and the agreed publication date.
05 · Disclose AI involvement clearly
Describe substantive AI-generated or AI-transformed writing, art, or audio and specify your own contribution. Do not claim wholly human authorship when the material was substantially generated by AI. Ask the editorial team if unsure what a publication accepts.
06 · Check accessibility and presentation
Review on phone and desktop. Use readable contrast, meaningful link text, image descriptions, correct name/credit, and unclipped images. Avoid placing important text only inside an image. Test every external and internal link.
07 · Know what KVI will not publish
Harassment, threats, plagiarism, unauthorized copyrighted material, fraud, exposed private information, exploitation, and material promoting targeted hatred or dangerous wrongdoing are not permitted. Difficult literature, historical critique, culturally specific dialect, and civil disagreements remain welcome when responsibly presented.
08 · Ask before publishing under someone else’s name
Do not post under another author’s identity, remove collaborator credits, approve your own submissions on behalf of an editor, or misrepresent KVI publication acceptance. If the work belongs to a magazine issue or partnership, follow that project’s review and credit requirements.
KVI NETWORK · EDITORIAL REFERENCE
Blog & Editorial Publishing Standard
Our house style combines readable digital journalism, APA 7–informed sourcing, multicultural literary respect, and KVI’s existing editorial and accessibility workflow. APA referencing applies when the work draws on outside evidence; creative writing keeps its artistic form.
01 · Choose the right editorial standard
KVI uses an APA 7–informed editorial standard for researched blog posts, essays, reviews, interviews, and explanatory articles. Poetry, fiction, personal reflection, and nVeeism writing retain their literary voice and do not need a scholarly References list unless they rely on outside facts, quotations, or research. Do not force poetry into an academic paper format; do not invent citations to make a creative work look researched.
02 · Structure a readable WordPress post
Use one descriptive article title (the page H1), a clear opening paragraph or short deck, H2 headings for major sections, and H3 headings for subsections. Keep a logical heading order, short mobile-friendly paragraphs, readable spacing, and meaningful transitions. Use one of KVI’s applicable layouts—KVI Chronicle, nVeeism Reflection, or KPC Editorial Spotlight—without altering an author’s intended meaning or style.
03 · Cite factual claims in the text
For paraphrased research, statistics, historical claims, psychology or philosophy research, and other externally sourced assertions, identify the source close to the relevant statement. Prefer APA 7 author–date format: (Surname, Year) or Surname (Year). Include an accessible hyperlink to the cited source when available. When quoting exact words, use quotation marks for brief quotations and provide author, year, and a page number or other useful locator (such as a paragraph number where available). Do not cite a source you did not inspect or describe an opinion as a verified fact.
04 · End researched posts with References
For articles that use external sources, add an H2 “References” section at the end. Include a matching entry for every in-text citation, and cite every listed reference in the article. Arrange entries alphabetically by the first author’s surname or the organization name, using APA 7’s author, date, title, source, and DOI/URL details as applicable. Where available, format the DOI as a https://doi.org/ link. Keep URLs clickable and do not fabricate author names, dates, page numbers, journals, or DOIs. Use “References and Further Reading” only when you clearly distinguish works actually cited from optional additional reading.
05 · Attribute quotations, art, interviews, and media
Name and link the original creator or publication for quotations, translations, photos, illustrations, charts, audio, videos, and research excerpts. Confirm usage rights and any permissions needed; attribution alone is not permission. Clearly identify interviewees and distinguish verified quotations from paraphrase. For author spotlights, credit the writer, the accompanying artwork creator, and any translator or collaborator separately. If you embed a third-party video, credit its creator and link the original source.
06 · Preserve author voice and cultural accuracy
Retain the contributor’s wording, credited name, diacritics, native-language expression, meaning, publication date, and approved poem or image order unless changes are requested. Correct clear typographical or accessibility issues non-destructively. Send substantial changes to the author for approval. A culturally specific voice is not an error simply because it differs from a conventional English-language style guide.
07 · Make the post accessible and discoverable
Add an accurate author/byline card and original publication date; for a repost or substantial update, distinguish the original date from the update date. Provide a relevant excerpt/meta description, descriptive slug, helpful categories and tags, descriptive internal links and verified external links. Add a meaningful featured image and alt text, captions and creator credits when appropriate. Check contrast, legible link colors, keyboard access, mobile layout, and uncropped media before submitting the draft.
08 · Disclose AI use and check the evidence
Follow KVI’s Community House Rules for substantive AI disclosure. Verify any AI-suggested references against the real publisher or source; do not publish imaginary studies, invented quotations, or unsupported claims. Be especially careful with psychology, health, historical, cultural, and statistical assertions; identify uncertainties and distinguish interpretation from evidence.
09 · Draft, review, and release
Save the post as a draft, assign the correct author, and share a working preview link when editorial review is required. Verify the title, text, reference list, media permissions, byline, original/repost dates, SEO details, contrast, responsive display, embeds, and all internal/external links. Remove editorial instructions and placeholders from the public article. Do not treat a WordPress Author role as automatic approval for an official KVI or KPC feature.
APA citation quick examples
In-text paraphrase: (American Psychological Association, 2021). Exact quotation pattern: (Surname, Year, p. X). For a webpage with no pages, use a paragraph or heading locator when helpful.
APA 7 reference example (a real source):
American Psychological Association. (2021, October 27). APA style. https://www.apa.org/support/apa-style.html
Webpage template: Author, A. A. (Year, Month Day). Title of page. Site Name. URL
Journal template: Author, A. A. (Year). Article title. Journal Title, volume(issue), page range. https://doi.org/…
Style help: Purdue OWL’s APA 7 guide · APA 7 reference-list rules. KVI adapts these citation principles for accessible websites, not academic title-page, running-head, or double-spacing requirements.
Before requesting publication — author checklist
Use this quick reference whenever you write a blog post. It is guidance, not an extra WordPress publishing step or a requirement to submit a form. Authors may publish their own personal blogs under KVI standards; official KVI and KPC magazine features still follow editorial review.
