The Influences That Shaped Me
Who are the biggest influences in your life?
The biggest influences in my life aren’t celebrities or public figures. They’re personal, lived, and earned over time.
My children influence me more than anything else. Being a father sharpens my sense of responsibility and keeps me accountable. They push me to grow, to listen better, and to lead by example. I can’t separate who I am from what I model for them, and that reality shapes my decisions daily.
Life itself has been a powerful teacher. Experience—both the wins and the hard lessons—has refined my discipline, patience, and perspective. It taught me how to read people, value silence, and move with intention rather than impulse. Those lessons show up in my writing, my leadership, and how I engage with others.
Mentors have also played a key role. Some guided me directly with wisdom and clarity. Others influenced me indirectly by showing me paths I chose not to follow. Both types left an imprint, and both helped shape my standards.
Finally, faith and reflection ground everything. Not loud. Not performative. Just a steady internal compass that keeps me aligned when no one is watching.
In the end, my biggest influences are fatherhood, experience, mentorship, and purpose. They don’t just inspire me—they keep me accountable to who I say I am.
