Chocolate Mystery
The Tempting Chocolate
Locked in a box is where she found the last real chocolate candy. So tempting, this piece. The outside is crunchy, but the inside, she can tell, is sweet.
She is afraid to take a bite— a forbidden fruit. One bite would be sweet poison to her soul, bound by the love arrow that struck her heart true, from Cupid’s bow.
The Guarded Heart
Hard on the outside, but she is no chocolate. A caramel-colored safe with complicated digits. One who holds the codes that’ll grant him access to what matters most. Precious items locked inside her treasure chest such as:
“Your heart, your trust, your emotions, and feelings.”
Codes are not easy to decipher. Tough, she needs to be. Trained by her father, Playstation cheat codes unlocking hidden secrets, motives, and intents of the hearts of men.
The Tempting Words
“He cites strong words, this chocolate one. Confident in what he sees, believes, he needs. He says it’s only: ‘Me.'”
Recall, she is not easily moved by any temptation.
“But I don’t like chocolate! But I just can’t resist sugary sweets. One taste, and I’ll be hooked, like soda caffeine.”
The Dilemma
Faced with a serious dilemma— too much chocolate and sweets aren’t good for the human body. Nevertheless, she vows to remain healthy; she knows this based on experience.
She has chocolate already sitting at home, but this brand is old and expired, making her sick and tired.
Besides, she has never seen anything like this chocolate treat found in this type of box. How could she ever pass this by to another soul?
Chocolate is still untouched, but gazing at it makes her mouth water, equilibrium now offset.
The Promise
Promising he’ll love her inside, outside the box, all seasons when freed.
Outside the box, he says, he’ll still want her, need her.
She doesn’t believe it.
“He only says this now, but later, when introduced to a buffet of different types of women, he’d pack a doggie bag and leave me.”
“Not true!!!”
The Proof of Love
What must he do to prove that his love for her will remain pure and genuine?
“Baby, listen. Whether it’s tomorrow, next month, in two or three years from now, nothing will change. I promise always to be there, promise never to leave you.” Even if I end up being just your friend.
“Before becoming lovers, we were first friends. I knew who you were from the beginning, observed you for the last 5–10 years, saw you, inside and out, and determined, I’ll still care.”
“Give your hand to me, and we can make all fairytale dreams real, officially.”
“Do you see what I see?”
The Decision
“But I need to know from you seriously if you feel the same towards me. If indeed we are writing in two different types of diaries and running different races, then let us call this for what it is: ‘Never meant to be. Just shake me. Wake up, Nelly, stop dreaming!'”
“Tell me now or forever hold your peace.”
“Just bite into me, your chocolate treat.”
The Question
“Will both our love survive all four seasons, every future New Year? Or end now because of your undetermined reasons?”
